Studio Story
My name is Michaela and I have been living in Australia since 2013, having come from the Czech Republic.I studied a diploma course at the Czech Krumlov Art Ceramic College and gained my diploma in Ceramic Art.
I have kept up my art practice ever since.
I am inspired by the beauty and perfection of nature and use this as a subject for my ceramics. My designs portray the message of natures precarious balance, as well as being inspired by Australia's fragile and wild flora, fauna and also endangered species.
Most of my pieces are thrown on the wheel with mid-stoneware and mid-porcelain clay with a fine finish that is delicate and strong. They go through at least ten stages until they are complete.
All my pieces are made in my studio in beautiful Mangrove Mountain, on the Central Coast of NSW.
My work has been displayed at the Gosford Art Gallery.
Each of my pieces is unique... as we all are, with message of life lessons and balance in nature!!!
Now I'm very happy to share my joy of clay with my ceramic students at the farm in my Foxey Ceramic Studio. My ceramic classes are for all kinds of people to be in the present moment and let go our daily problems ... to balance our unbalanced life.
